These two illustrations are my imaginative reinterpretations of classic childhood characters, created for a picture book project. I wanted to capture a sense of playful nostalgia while reimagining them with bold, expressive energy. My use of deep purples, saturated yellows, and glowing highlights brings a moody yet whimsical tone, blending humor with surreal charm. The exaggerated features, dramatic lighting, and textured brushwork give each character a distinct personality—both familiar and refreshingly original. Through composition and color contrast, I aimed to balance nostalgia with creativity, creating fun, one-of-a-kind versions that spark curiosity and delight in both children and adults.
