Artist Josh Ball
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. What started as simple sketches and a love of storytelling slowly grew into a lifelong path in illustration, design, and painting. I studied Fine Arts at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and graduated in 1998, but most of what I’ve learned has come from years of making, experimenting, and collaborating with others.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work on all kinds of creative projects — illustrating children’s books, designing logos and brands, building apps and games, and painting murals in both public and private spaces. Each project has taught me something new about people, process, and the power of visual storytelling.
I still find joy in every part of it, from the first sketch to the final piece. Whether it’s a logo, a book illustration, or a mural, I try to create work that feels honest, thoughtful, and connected to the people it’s made for.
At my core, I’m just someone who loves to make things — and I’m grateful to have spent my life doing exactly that.
